When you email us. If you write to hello@scarsian.com, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to put in the message.

When you visit the site. Our hosting provider records standard server information — IP address, user agent, requested pages, and timestamps — so the site can run and stay secure. We do not run analytics or advertising trackers on this site.

We do not run forms, accounts, or payment flows here, so there is nothing else for us to collect.

We use only the strictly necessary cookies required for the site to function. We do not set marketing or analytics cookies, and we do not embed third-party trackers.

We use email correspondence to reply to you and to keep a record of the conversation. We use server logs to keep the site online, diagnose problems, and protect it from abuse. We do not sell or rent personal data, and we do not share it for advertising.

A small number of providers process this data on our behalf, under contract: our hosting and email infrastructure providers. They process data only as instructed by us. We may also disclose information where the law requires it.

Our infrastructure providers operate globally, which means your data may be processed outside Hong Kong, including in jurisdictions whose privacy laws differ from yours. Where this happens, we rely on the safeguards offered by those providers under their own data protection commitments.

We keep email correspondence as long as it remains relevant to a conversation or relationship, then we delete it. Server logs are retained for a short period for security and operational purposes, then rotated out.

Under the Hong Kong Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance — and, where it applies, the EU and UK GDPR — you have rights to ask what we hold about you, to correct it, to ask us to delete it, and to object to certain uses of it. This site is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 13.

If we change how we handle data, we will update this page and revise the date at the top. Material changes will be made obvious.
